Jacob Harvell Douglas
1976-2002

Jacob "Jake" Harvell Douglas, 26, a specialist 4th Class,
28th Military Police Detachment, died peacefully in his
sleep from cardiovascular disease which resulted in
heart failure, June 9, 2002, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Harvell Douglas of
Tallahassee, and his father Gene Douglas (and wife
Wendy) of Fort Campbell, KY.

The service will be at 11:00 AM EDT Monday June 17, 2002
at Northwoods Baptist Church, 3762 NW Capital Circle in
Tallahassee, FL, with burial and military honors at
Woodland Cemetery in Havana, FL. Bevis Funeral Home is
handling arrangements (385-2193 or www.bevisfuneral.com).
Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers
and Big Sisters, 2337 Wednesday St., Tallahassee, FL
32308. Big Brothers and Big Sisters would greatly
appreciate any monetary donations,
but more importantly your time.

A native of Tallahassee, he had lived in Alaska for two
years. He was a graduate of Florida State University
Research School, where he was a member of the Varsity
baseball team. He was a gentle soul and a friend to everyone.

Other survivors include two brothers, Joseph Douglas and
Jason Douglas, both of Fort Campbell; his sister Sheila
Douglas of Fort Campbell; his grandmother, Nita Weston
and his step-grandfather Don Weston of Tallahassee; his
grandfather, Floyd Harvell of Reno, GA; his grandfather,
Bill Douglas of Flagler Beach; his great-grandmothers,
Bernie Morrow of Havana and Bea Strickland of Hortense,
GA; his aunts and uncles, Cindy and Rick Vanlandingham
of Greensboro, Tammy and Jerry Horne of Havana, Alan and
Pam Douglas of Flagler Beach, and Stephen Harvell of
Reno; seven first cousins, Ben Vanlandingham, Rebecca
Vanlandingham, Ashley Witherow, Gage Horne, Breanna
Horne, Justin Douglas and Heather Douglas; and many other
family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joanne Douglas.
